Viktor Farcic, developer advocate at Upbound, member of the Google Developer Experts and a published author, has been doing GitOps even before the term was coined by Alexis Richardson in 2017. Viktor believes that even though many developers have been doing GitOps for a while, defining what it really is and giving GitOps a name is what has helped with its rapid adoption.
